Formal Nights
You either love them, or you hate them. Formal nights are the occasional night when people are encouraged to dress up. You see everything from long dresses and tuxes, to fancy sweaters and sport jackets. On formal nights, there are special offerings in the main dining rooms like lobster, duck, lamb and filet, as well as fancy desserts like Crepes Suzette and Cherries Jubilee. The crew are dressed in their formal uniforms and there is special entertainment and events. Everybody is looking good and feeling good!
Some folks refuse to bring along formal wear and won’t waste space in their suitcases for such “unnecessary and superfluous” attire. And sometimes, you just don’t “feel it” and you defiantly wear your normal clothes and go to the buffet. There will have been 15 formal nights before depart in LA. You can be assured that Marsh and I have had a couple of “not feeling it” nights. But most of the time, we’ve embraced the opportunity and got in the spirit by getting ourselves fancied up. We acknowledge the extra effort that the crew put into these special evenings and we like to show our appreciation for that. Cheers!
