One thing we’ve always admired when visiting ports around the world is the effort that many small towns go to to make the visitor feel welcome. There’s Picton, New Zealand and the Picton Flower Ladies who make small boutonnières of fresh local flowers for every person coming off the cruise ship. Or in Cartagena, Spain, where they that set off a small battery of fireworks as we sailed away. In small Queensferry, Scotland, a lone bagpiper played for us as we departed. For every town that rolls out the red carpet, we are grateful.

In Greenock, Scotland, we got a whole bagpipe band and it was fantastic. Here’s a little clip. Enjoy!
