We visited Suva in 2024 on the World Cruise and found the Fijian people very friendly. Everywhere you go, they shout the Fijian greeting, “Bula”!! Today was no different and we enjoyed a lovely day at Pacific Harbour, about 30 miles west of Suva.

Our tour was with Graceful Travels Tours Fiji, a family-owned business out of Lautoka. This husband-and-wife team left their home at 3am, to drive to Suva to pick us up, spend the day with us, and then drive another 4 hours home. What a long day for them and we admired their effort. They took us to a resort in Pacific Harbour where we could swim, admire the scenery and enjoy the facilities. Along the way, they shared about Fiji and their culture.

Fiji, officially the Republic of Fiji, is an archipelagic nation in the South Pacific Ocean with its capital at Suva. Tourism and sugar production are the key industries. With a population of roughly 900,000, with 200K living in Suva alone, it has nearly 330 tropical and volcanic islands. We enjoyed the commentary on our drive to the resort.

The Pearl Resort boasts 3 swimming pools and a gorgeous beach front. We grabbed some loungers and stowed our stuff, then headed immediately into the clear waters. These were not snorkeling waters so we were content to just float and look at the mountains. We enjoyed some pool time, had some lunch and then the storm clouds rolled in. Nothing like laying in your wet bathing suit and getting rained on! It cooled everyone down and soon the sun was back out in time for our drive home.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time with Graceful Travels. They were kind, entertaining, and super affordable. To compare, the same tour was offered by Princess for more than double the price. While they rode on a massive bus, we rode in a small intimate mini-bus for 13. We highly recommend Graceful Travels Tours Fiji.

In the evening, we enjoyed a Valentines Day dinner at the Crown Grill, and took in a show by Tahitian performers.
