For weeks we’ve worried that we would NOT be going through the Red Sea due to the Houthis attacks, and with the recent attack on a U.S. base by Iran-backed rebels, we began to worry about whether our passage through the Straits of Hormuz would be possible to get to Dubai. Around the ship, there was so much speculation about what our journey would end up looking like. It was like the elephant in the room.

Well, tonight the captain came on the PA system across the ship, at precisely 7pm, to announce some pretty significant changes to our itinerary. Again, we were kinda expecting them, but when the changes were announced, it was a real dose of reality.

We’ll need a couple days to mourn those locations that we really wanted to visit. But we’ve always said that if you can’t zig and zag, you have no business traveling. And no more so than on a world cruise! So now that our new “marching orders” are in place, we’ll get the website updated just as soon as we can, cancel the tours in ports we are no longer visiting, and research and engage opportunities in the new ports that we get to visit. It’s all administrative and luckily, we have two more sea days until Fiji. Onward and full steam ahead!
