I was going to call this post “Weird Shit from Around the Ship” but decided that “weird” is in the eye of the beholder and well, I certainly don’t want to offend anyone. And so, I will share things that have caused pause, brought a smile or really just made us scratch our heads and say “no shit?”.

Space Junk

So one day, as we were merrily strolling along the south Indian Ocean, minding our own business, we get a notification that we are in the path of space debris that is crashing to earth. Seriously. Our dear Captain Marco informed everyone through a letter.

No Cold Water

If you are a fan of a nice cold shower to rejuvenate, or to cool down after a workout, you are out of luck here. The explanation we’ve heard is as most of the water used on the ship is desalinated ocean water, and since the ocean is warmish here in the southern hemisphere where it is summer, that means warm water to brush your teeth, warm water to wash your clothes, warm is all you get. We’ve adjusted. If you know of a better explanation, do tell!

Towel Art

The teddy bear really brought a smile and I thought it deserved a mention, purely on the basis of the effort someone put into this. A few days later, the tree appeared. These were spotted on the Lido deck and I want to thank the crew members that woke up these days and decided to make people smile. Do they bring a smile to your face too?
