Half Way
We hit our half-way mark two days ago. It’s hard to believe in so many contradictory ways. Though the first half flew by, it also seems like we’ve been gone from home a really long time. Though we’ve made lifelong friends, we didn’t even know them a short 2 months ago. Despite all the planning that we did prior, our journey so far has been unexpected. We’ve been commenting with others how this life at sea feels like a bubble…that time is relative and we’ve come unglued a bit from reality. Alas, we’ve been at sea another full 7 days so I think we’re getting a little punchy.
We celebrated our half way milestone with a pub crawl. There are nine bars onboard and we visited them all over a 6-hour time span. We had a lot of fun and shared a lot of good stories.
Tomorrow, we make land in the country of Cape Verde. Land ho!
