
Edfu, Egypt
The frescoes and reliefs, both on the outside and inside, were amazing. As you approached the temple, the size was really intimidating and speaks to the affluence and abundance of resources of the time.
In the afternoon, we set sail for Aswan, taking 8 hours to get there. We enjoyed two lectures on board, by our Egyptologists, and a cooking class by the Head Chef.
Tonight, we dined al fresco on the deck of the ship, with a special meal prepared to reflect Egyptian cuisine. The food was abundant and delicious. Besides many appetizers, a basmati rice, seasoned with cinnamon, was served with leg of lamb, chicken and shish-kabob. Desserts were served on a dinner plate, there were so many! Baklava, pistachio cookies, and much more. It was a feast. Sadly we took no photos, we were too busy eating!

This day looks incredible! The temple is beyond description and the views from the river cruise are breathtakingly beautiful.
